Feminine Is the Trend by Karen Roy
The 2008 fashion trend
is girly and feminine. Feminine outfits are in this season with
dresses being at the top of the list. Adding to that feminine
mystique are sequins, metallics, silk jersey, chiffon, and ruffles as
well as bright colors and floral prints. Color at the top of the list
include: orange, rose, lavender, and green.
Silver has claimed the honorary title of “The New” Neutral and patterns
of black and white are just as popular as adding color to your look.
To make sure your outfit
is put together and flattering, you want to create a balanced look from
top to bottom. Keep these hints in mind when adding ruffles, floral
prints, bright colors and sequins to your look. Bootylicious women,
add these extras to the upper half, keeping the bottom half on the neutral
or darker side. If going with a floral from top to bottom chose
a pattern on the larger side. If you’re larger on the top you should
follow the advice given above, but in the reverse. You want to
play up your bottom half. These hints will help you create that
balanced, sheik, put together look that all the girls will envy.
Remember these cardinal
rules when clothes shopping:
- It is not
the size, it is the fit. If a piece is too small or too big it
is not flattering.
- Hold colors
to your face to decide if they are right for you.
- Trends don’t
always work for everyone. If it doesn’t suit you don’t buy
it.
- Find a shopping
buddy that will tell you what looks good and what doesn’t.
- My favorite
cardinal rule: stock your closet with classic pieces; trends come and
go just like each season.
